Day 1: Rongai Gate → Simba Camp

After registration at Rongai Gate, the trek begins through farmland and pine forest. The trail is gentle and quiet, offering a peaceful start to the climb. Overnight at Simba Camp.

Day 2: Simba Camp → Second Cave Camp

Altitude: 2,600 m → 3,450 m
Distance: ~7 km | Time: 4–5 hours

The landscape opens into moorland with wide views of the Kenyan plains. The steady climb allows the body to adapt gradually to altitude.

Day 3: Second Cave Camp → Kikelewa Camp

Altitude: 3,450 m → 3,630 m
Distance: ~6 km | Time: 3–4 hours

A shorter hiking day with a steeper section near Kikelewa Camp. This day supports acclimatization while offering impressive views of Mawenzi Peak.

Day 4: Kikelewa Camp → Mawenzi Tarn Camp

Altitude: 3,630 m → 4,315 m
Distance: ~5 km | Time: 4–5 hours

The trail climbs into alpine desert terrain. Mawenzi Tarn Camp sits beneath the dramatic spires of Mawenzi Peak and is one of the most scenic camps on Kilimanjaro.

Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn Camp → Kibo Hut → Uhuru Peak → Horombo Hut

Altitude: 4,315 m → 4,703 m → 5,895 m → 3,720 m
Distance: ~18 km | Time: 12–14 hours

Summit day begins around midnight. Ascend steadily to Gilman’s Point, then continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Descend via Kibo Hut to Horombo Hut for overnight.

Day 6: Horombo Hut → Marangu Gate

Altitude: 3,720 m → 1,860 m
Distance: ~20 km | Time: 5–6 hours

A long but gradual descent through moorland and rainforest to Marangu Gate. Receive your summit certificates and transfer back to your hotel.
