Day 1: Machame Gate → Machame Camp

Altitude: 1,800 m → 3,000 m | Distance: 10 km | Hiking Time: 5–7 hours

Arrive at Machame Gate for registration. Trek through dense rainforest, spotting monkeys and tropical birds. Arrive at Machame Camp in the afternoon, set up tents, and enjoy dinner.

Day 2: Machame Camp → Shira Camp

Altitude: 3,000 m → 3,850 m | Distance: 9 km | Hiking Time: 5–6 hours

Climb out of the forest into heath and moorland. Trek across rolling hills with panoramic views of the Shira Plateau and Mount Meru. Reach Shira Camp and rest for acclimatization.

Day 3: Shira Camp → Lava Tower → Barranco Camp

Altitude: 3,850 m → 4,630 m → 3,960 m | Distance: 10 km | Hiking Time: 6–8 hours

Acclimatization day: hike to Lava Tower, have lunch, then descend to Barranco Camp. The “climb high, sleep low” approach helps reduce altitude sickness.

Day 4: Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp

Day 5: Karanga Camp → Barafu Camp

A short but important day to prepare for the summit. After arrival at Barafu Camp, trekkers rest, hydrate, and receive a detailed briefing for summit night.

Day 6: Barafu Camp → Uhuru Peak → Mweka Camp

Altitude: 4,640 m → 5,895 m → 3,100 m  |  Distance: ~17 km  |  Hiking Time: 10–14 hours

Summit day begins around midnight. The steep ascent leads to Stella Point (5,756 m), followed by a gradual traverse to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After photos and celebration, descend to Mweka Camp.

Day 7: Mweka Camp → Mweka Gate

Altitude: 3,100 m → 1,640 m | Distance: 10 km | Hiking Time: 3–4 hours

Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive your summit certificate and transfer back to your hotel for rest and celebration.
