Refund Policy
Overview
This Refund Policy explains how we handle cancellations and refunds for tours and services booked with Tanzania Memories in Tanzania.
Because most trips include third-party costs (parks, permits, lodging, transport), refunds depend on timing and supplier rules.
Deposits & non-refundable costs
Deposits are used to secure reservations and cover early supplier commitments. For that reason, deposits are generally non-refundable unless we confirm otherwise in writing.
- Park permits and some accommodation bookings can be non-refundable once confirmed.
- Bank fees, card fees, and transfer charges are not refundable.
Cancellations by the traveler
To cancel, you must notify us in writing (email or WhatsApp) as early as possible.
Cancellation fees may apply based on how close the cancellation is to the trip start date and what suppliers have already been paid.
- No-shows and late arrivals are treated as cancellations and are typically non-refundable.
- Unused services (for example: skipping a day trip, leaving early, or missing an activity) are typically non-refundable.
Date changes and rescheduling
When possible, we try to reschedule rather than cancel. Rescheduling depends on availability, seasonal prices, and supplier change fees.
If suppliers allow credit notes, we will apply them to your new dates where possible.
Cancellations by Tanzania Memories
If we must cancel a confirmed service due to reasons within our control, we will offer an alternative date/service or a refund for the portion we did not deliver (subject to supplier refundability).
If cancellation is due to force majeure, we will work with suppliers to obtain the best available outcome (refund, credit, or date change).
Refund processing
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method where possible. Timing depends on banks/payment providers and supplier refund timelines.
We do not release supplier funds until we receive the supplier refund (if applicable).
- Refunds can take several business days to appear, depending on your bank.
- Refund amounts may be reduced by non-refundable supplier costs and transaction fees.
Travel insurance
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical care, and evacuation. Insurance is often the best protection for unexpected changes.
