Our commitment

Tanzania Memories is based in Tanzania, and our work depends on healthy ecosystems, thriving communities, and responsible tourism in national parks.

We aim to protect wildlife, respect local culture, and create trips that guests love without damaging what makes Tanzania special.

Wildlife-first guiding

Our guides follow park regulations and wildlife etiquette. We never pressure wildlife for photos or break rules to “chase sightings.”

  • Stay on designated tracks and respect ranger instructions.
  • Keep a safe distance and reduce noise near wildlife.
  • No feeding, touching, or disturbing animals.

Waste & plastic reduction

We encourage guests and crews to minimize waste during trips and handle litter responsibly.

  • Carry reusable bottles where practical and refill safely.
  • Pack out what you pack in (especially on day trips and climbs).
  • Dispose of waste in designated areas and never in parks.

Community & local value

We prioritize local employment and local suppliers where possible, including guides, drivers, and community-run experiences.

We aim for fair pay, respectful working conditions, and honest recommendations that benefit local communities.

Choosing responsible partners

Accommodation and activity choices matter. We prefer partners that treat staff fairly and maintain good environmental practices.

When we recommend lodges or camps, we consider safety, cleanliness, service quality, and responsible operations.

Continuous improvement

Sustainability is not a one-time checklist. We review feedback from guests and staff and improve our trip operations over time.

If you have sustainability concerns or ideas, we want to hear them.
